LONDON Briefing has called for a national meeting of Briefing groups on Sunday 3 July in London.

The meeting will spend most of its time discussing proposal for a 'National Brieting Supplement', which would effectively serve as a national focus for the forces who have been involved, at constituency level, in setting up local Briefings and left wings.

If such a development does take place it would be a vital step. At national level there is a vacuum in the leadership battle because of Benn's failure to reach parliament.

Kinnock's advance is a product lett's failure to effectively challenge the right.

It has helped create for organising the left and for leadership challenge in the party.
