AT LABOUR PARTY Wythenshawe Constituency Labour Party was promised fair democratically recalled Annual General Meeting. on the November. Russel Tuck for the National Executive Committee emphasised that all delegates would be invited and allowed to attend.

Certainly the full by Cormac#2?

10/83 ...and I told the maid to secure her bedroom door...

..and asked cook to slip some bromide into his tea... resources of the Party apparatus seemed to have moved into action. Union branches all over Manchester have received letters inviting them to atfiliate to Wythenshawe CLP and send delegates.

Manchester Central CLP The Manchester National of Railwaymen No.1 Branch received such letter which wasn't taken up as none of their members lives in Wythenshawe -fact that isn't surprising as the branch covers Central Manchester and Wythenshawe is far to the South.

The funny thing is that least five branches -which already filiated to Wythenshawe Party haven't been tacted. The last AGM was onsaloweron basis that branch of the shop workers' wasn't given the constitutional 28 days notice. By that criteria the 4 November AGM is already out of rule!

David Hughes, the National Agent, who is running the suspended constituency, has not made any attempt to get hold of the full list of affiliates from the officer of the district who has it. there are reports that the electricians' EETPU, have intervened to change the delegation to "elected by the • local union branch.

It is not clear whether the affiliates delegations will be . de cepted or whether the new AGM will take place on the basis of the February attilations.

Wythenshawe • deleg ates are not wrong in fearing that the 4 November AGM may turn out to be less than TAT. organising to make sure that all delegates are in formed But Wythenshawe's best defence is the attention courage of delegates gained at the Labour Party conference That attention must not waver CLPs unions should ensure that they receive the full tacts of the 4 November AGM.

The constituency is still planning to call a national conference. whatever hap pens on the 4 November Details will be decided or after the AGM.
