Uncorrected machine reading. This text was read by machine (Apple Vision OCR) from a scan of a newspaper page, and the page was cut into articles by machine, at the headlines found by their type size. Nothing has been corrected: expect misread words, text from a neighbouring article, and titles that are the machine reading of the headline, some of them only fragments. Quote from the scan, not from this page.
How this article was cut and titled: headline found by type size in the OCR geometry (split_tabloid.py); 4-7 of 7; machine-segmented newspaper page; uncorrected Vision OCR.

SociAlist ideals of socialism and the HOST basic humanitarian principles.

Every single leader has to rally behind Liverpool. To defeat the Tories • there would ellcourage all those other boroughs threatened with Jenkin's savage destructive cuts. It would also make clear to millions of people that Labour is on the side of those opposing the dole queue, poverty and all the other souldestroying blights of Tory Labour has a duty to pool to aid their struggle. It also has a duty to rebuild itself through such actions so that once again it can claim to speak for a majority of working people.

By unconditional defence of the cause of Liverpool it can show to all the working class that it has the right to be the party of Labour.
